Sally-Chan ?

I went to my original company to discus about my assignment on next year. The director looks like a sixtyish stern man. He is tall and slim, and wears glasses.I talked him about my wish and he said "I heard just your wish." It became quiet.
Then, suddenly, "You look like Sally-chan, aren't you? " he said."Sally-chan? Is she a witch? " "Yes, Sally-chan!" In fact, he is a friendly and funny man, I know.

The Chritsmas season

My favorite season comes. The Chirstmas decoration, mood, music and etc are my joy. Now I'm thinking about the Christmas sweets at my home party. One ice cake was orderd for children, but for adults not. Which sweet is tasty ?
Last year I selected the Japanese sweets like the photo and they were popular with my sisters. I recommend them.

The Party

Last Saturday, I found new characters of my classmates. We have known each other by our over 20 hours conversaton classes, but the party and Karaoke, only 4 hours, defined our characters more clearly. We talked English and Japanese as expected. He is a good singer and there were some dancers! It's funny and happy time. I'm looking forwad to see the photographs.

So I will arrange for the new years party on Jun. 19th or 26th. How about is your schedule ?

TOEIC and New Term

Today my second challenge to TOEIC has done. Some questions made me relaxed because they were related to yesterday's classes. Thanks teachers! I think I did it better than last time. However, I marked the half of reading sections with an "a" . Because it is too short for me to answer all questions. Even if my all answers are correct, the score is under 500. And if 75% of them are correct, the score is....... Woom. NEVER GIVE UP!

By the way, the new term started yesterday. I assumed that our class would be mixed with another one, but it is almost same. I welcome back Chikako and welcome new member.

Let's improve our English !

My English books

The English book what I am reading is mine. I bought five "PENGUIN READERS" because they were a special discounted set. Buying English books was my new experience and I enjoy them!

Shock...!

The TOEIC score was mailed and it shocked me! It is worse than I thought. But, "what is done cannot be undone." Thing to do is study English more. I will make better score at next time.

A certification

Today is a very cold rainy day. To make matters worse, I didn't have an umbrella, so I went to drink with my colleagues near my company. One of them has a IT certification that is an international credential, and we have to take the examm in English even in Japan and I have never challenged it. I with to pass the examm some day.

Charity Concert

I listend to some good music and talks at a charity concert for three earthquakes in Niigata. The pianist said "What can we do for those people? The raised money doesn't look enough to rebuild their houses and lives. At least, we can encourage them in conveying our heart 'We don't forget you. We know your hardships and pray for you.' with raised things."

I think so. I try to do something if it is not enough.

The second book

The second English book is "Billy Budd, Sailor" and the leading man would be hanged the next morning.

But 10 pages are left. What would become of him? Probably I know it in this weekend.

Reading English materials

I could select two from many English videos.
But the material wasn't finished up , so my study will be continued tomorrow.

Some sentences of the English materials are too long for me.
I can't understand the relations between some verbs, conjunctions, coordinating conjunctions and others.

It is my pressure but I feel better than August, when our class didn't start yet.
I will make progress in my English.

English...

Today I collected some materials but all of them were English!
There were some videos and I watched them , but couldn't understand.

I have to make a Japanese material and setlect some videos to explain our solution.
So, tomorrow I will be able to study English during business hours!

Well... I feel a little sad...

Jindai temple and the botanical garden

Yesterday, I visited the Jindai temple and the botanical garden. Some shops are around the temple, especially soba shops.

Jindai-ji-soba is famous food from the end of 17th cent.. It is bustling with tourists. There is a botanical garden, too. The Rose festival is held from October 6. Pink, red, yellow, white, high, low, learge, mini, single-petaled and multilayered... many kinds of rose blossomed out. I enjoyed there very much!

It takes 20 minutes from Kichijo-ji station to the Jindai temple.

The Canterbury Tales

I borrowed an English book from ELS two weeks ago.
This book, "The Canterbury Tales", was written in England in the 14 century.

It is a collection of short stories.
The piligrms told them on the way to the Canterbury cathedral.
When I visited there, people talked about this famous book.
But I didn't know it at all.

I try to finish this book by next lesson.

Please visit below URL, in Japanese...

Most necessary thing

I will take the TOEIC on next sunday, so I did a sample test today.

I think that the most necessary thing is keeping concentration.
Even 45 minutes for listenning section are too long for me.

I was bored.

A rainy day

Today is a rainy day.

I like fine days very much but drizzle is also good.

It makes me calm.

Happy Birthday !!

Today is my nephew's birthday
My mother called him to say happy birthday, but he wasn't at home.
Then he was watching the baseball game at the Tokyo Dome .

Tanaka and Darvish took the mound on the game.
I think it becomes a good memory of the little baseball player.
